Some people spend a lifetime building one identity. Olivia Paladin has embraced many. From modelling with Wilhelmina to becoming a sponsored skydiver, wingsuiter and BASE jumper, she has always been drawn to the next challenge.
After a serious injury changed her path, Olivia reinvented herself as an entrepreneur, built her own medspa, and later embraced motherhood. Today, she is a full-time content creator, newly signed with a commercial agency, sharing family travel, food and life with her two-year-old son.
In this conversation, Olivia reflects on courage, resilience, reinvention and the lessons that continue to shape her next chapter.
Olivia, you began your career as a model with Wilhelmina and went on to become a sponsored skydiver, wingsuiter and BASE jumper. What first drew you to a life built around adventure, and what did those experiences teach you about courage and taking risks?
My adventurous side really started with my dad. He taught me to snow ski and water ski when I was young. He always pushed me to be fearless and try new things, which eventually led me to skydiving, wingsuiting, BASE jumping and riding motorcycles. Those experiences taught me that courage isn’t about having no fear. It’s about trusting yourself, preparing for the risk and taking the leap anyway. My dad is no longer with us, so I really cherish the adventurous spirit he gave me.
Your journey took an unexpected turn after a serious injury that left you with a broken back and leg. How did that experience change your perspective on life, your ambitions and the way you define strength?
Breaking my back and leg forced me to slow down and completely reevaluate my life. Before that, I thought strength meant being fearless and constantly pushing myself. The recovery taught me that strength can also mean patience, resilience and being willing to rebuild. It made me appreciate life differently and showed me that I’m capable of reinventing myself when life takes an unexpected turn.
After modeling and extreme sports, you entered the world of entrepreneurship by opening and later selling your own medspa. What did building a business teach you about yourself, and how has that experience influenced the way you approach your career today?
Building my medspa taught me how to lead, take risks and create something from the ground up. But selling it taught me just as much. Around that time, I became a mom and lost my dad, and both completely changed my priorities. I realized success isn’t always about holding onto something you’ve built. Sometimes it’s having the courage to choose a new chapter. That experience taught me to trust myself and never be afraid to evolve.
You are now a full-time social media creator, a mother to your two-year-old son, and have recently signed with a commercial agency. How has motherhood reshaped your identity and the way you approach creativity, work and your ambitions?
Motherhood has completely changed me. The unconditional love I have for my son has made me a better person and has given me a completely different perspective on what really matters. He’s my biggest priority, but he’s also made me more ambitious because I want him to grow up watching me chase my dreams. Motherhood has brought a more real and relatable side to my content, and signing with a commercial agency feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Your content now focuses largely on family-friendly destinations, travel and places to eat. What makes a destination or experience truly memorable for you and your family, and how do you balance creating beautiful content with keeping it authentic?
For me, it’s about finding experiences that we genuinely enjoy as a family. Whether it’s a beautiful destination, an amazing restaurant or something completely unexpected, I want my content to reflect what the experience actually felt like. I love creating beautiful content, but I also like showing the funny, chaotic and imperfect moments because that’s real life, especially with a two-year-old.
Looking back at everything you’ve experienced, from fashion and extreme sports to entrepreneurship and motherhood, what does this new chapter of your life represent for you, and what would you love to explore next?
This chapter feels like everything I’ve experienced is finally coming together. I’ve modeled, been in the extreme sports world, built a business and become a mom, and every version of myself has taught me something. Now I’m excited to see where content creation and this next chapter in life take me. I want to keep traveling, trying new things and saying yes to opportunities that scare me a little, because those have usually ended up being some of the best experiences of my life.
