From the big screen to the big stage, Erin Marie Garrett is a true multi-talent. Best known for her dynamic presence in film and international modeling, Erin is also the powerhouse lead vocalist of the southern punk-rock-metal band Love Sick Drug. With charisma, grit, and an infectious energy, she brings a unique voice to the music scene. We sat down with Erin to talk about her journey into music, the evolution of the band, and how she balances her diverse career in entertainment.
Erin, music seems to be where your heart truly lies. Can you tell us what first drew you to singing and performing with Love Sick Drug?
My father played guitar and sang to me. He loved Elvis and Buddy Holly, so singing rock music is something I learned from him. Music is my heart. I joined Love Sick Drug at the end of 2020. An actor buddy of mine reached out and asked if I was still performing as a singer because his friend was looking for a new lead singer for his band. It just so happened to be Billy Blair, an actor friend I had already been in a few films with before. He called me and said he didn’t know I was a singer, and I told him I didn’t know he was in a band! Ha! Small world…
What’s the story behind the name Love Sick Drug, Erin? How did the band come together?
Guitarists Billy Blair and Lew Morris were already working on building the name before I joined, but it all came together once I became the lead singer and we locked in our drummer Chris Carnage and bassist Fernando Salas. My guys are absolutely amazing and so talented. Long story short, I auditioned—and here we are almost five years later, hitting the stage with some pretty big names!

How would you describe your sound, and what artists or genres influence your music the most?
We’re a mix of southern, punk rock, and pop blended with metal. We really pull from everything to create our own vibe.
Do you write your own lyrics, Erin? If so, what themes do you often explore in your songs?
I do write, but a lot of our music is a collaborative effort. I’m really driven by powerhouse sounds, and the guys are great at creating music that just hits you in the gut.

Erin, you’ve had roles in several films and appeared in international magazines—how do you approach your work differently as an actress versus a model?
Even though they’re all separate “jobs,” being an entertainer really blends those worlds together. I create a persona for each gig. Image is definitely a huge part of marketing in entertainment, but I also believe you have to be true to yourself and find what works for you. People connect with you when you’re genuinely just yourself.
6. How do you balance your life as a musician with your work in film, modeling, and other ventures?
Well, let’s just say my iPhone calendar is very busy—haha! It keeps me on my game. I overthink and prepare ahead for everything, which definitely helps. I’m also lucky to work with so many talented artists and professionals. It makes what I do feel like fun and not work.

Are there any upcoming releases or shows fans should be excited about, Erin?
LSD (Love Sick Drug) is adding new show dates to the calendar soon, and I’m working on a few film projects and modeling jobs. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to stay updated! @emariegarrett
Finally, Erin, what advice would you give young women wanting to pursue careers in music and entertainment?
You have to do what you love because you only get one shot—you’re not promised tomorrow. Give it everything you’ve got, with full passion, and find happiness!
