Donna Feldman: An embodiment of timeless beauty and grace

Donna Feldman

Donna, your career spans modeling, acting, and production. How did your journey in the entertainment industry begin, and what inspired you to pursue such a multifaceted path?

I was first approached about modeling in high school, but I didn’t pursue it seriously until college while studying fashion marketing. I began as a fit model for several major clothing brands, which involved trying on clothing to ensure it fit perfectly on a human body rather than just a mannequin. It was an incredible way to learn about the design and production process. At the time, my agent encouraged me to explore other areas of modeling, including fashion, print, and commercial work, which eventually led to a full-time career.

From there, I had the opportunity to travel the world, working on ad campaigns, editorials, TV commercials, acting projects, and even TV hosting. Over the years, being in front of the camera taught me so much about the creative process behind it. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized how much I had already been doing behind the scenes—producing shoots for clients without even realizing it. I found myself conceptualizing and art-directing shoots, curating creative teams, coordinating glam squads, and even assisting with post-production. Those experiences inspired me to officially launch my own production company, combining my years of on-camera expertise with a passion for creating seamless, impactful campaigns.

You were one of the original “Deal or No Deal” briefcase girls. How did that experience shape your career, and what do you remember most about that time?

What I remember most about my time on the show is that it was the biggest show on NBC. It was wonderful exposure and led to bigger and brighter opportunities for me because I used it as a stepping stone to pursue acting and other projects. I never saw it as my final destination, but I remained grateful and positive during that season of life, knowing it would open doors to more opportunities.

With a degree in fashion marketing and professional makeup artistry, how have these skills influenced your approach to modeling and running your production company, StrawHat Productions?

Having a background in fashion marketing and professional makeup artistry has always been beneficial. It allows me to collaborate seamlessly with stylists, makeup artists, and other creatives while offering my input and ideas. Additionally, I can provide budget-friendly solutions for clients when I’m both the producer and the model, as I can do my own hair, makeup, and styling when needed. It all depends on the client’s budget and requirements, but having a well-rounded understanding of the industry benefits both the clients and the entire creative team.

In fact, I’m currently on a flight heading to a big modeling job where the client specifically requested that talent arrive “camera-ready.” I’m grateful to have the expertise to meet their needs while also adding value to the project.

StrawHat Productions specialise in creating marketing materials for brands. Can you share your vision for the company and what you find most rewarding about being involved in the creative process?

My vision for the company is to continue producing high-quality marketing materials for clients looking to grow and expand their businesses. The most rewarding part is seeing a client’s dream or vision come to life—especially when they don’t know how to promote their product, and I help develop the concept. Watching everything come together beautifully in photo and video content that exceeds their expectations is incredibly fulfilling. There’s nothing better than using your creativity and seeing it come to life!

Your portfolio includes collaborations with top brands like Cadillac, Revlon, and Bentley. What do you think sets you apart as a brand ambassador and international print model?

I feel incredibly grateful to work with such major brands, and I’m excited for what’s ahead this year! I believe what sets me apart is a combination of my unique, multi-ethnic look, strong work ethic, professionalism, and positive attitude on set. I treat everyone with respect, from assistants to directors and photographers.

I focus on delivering a timeless, classic feel rather than constantly adapting to fleeting trends. At the end of the day, clients want someone with a great attitude who helps them achieve their vision—and I always aim to bring that to every collaboration.

You’ve had acting roles in TV shows like NCIS, The Oval, and Two and a Half Men. What do you enjoy most about acting, and how does it compare to modeling?

I’ve always seen similarities between modeling and acting, especially since I was shy growing up. Every time I step in front of a camera, I feel like I’m playing a new role—with different hair, makeup, styling, and storytelling elements.

However, what I love most about acting is the ability to dive deeper into a character. It pushes me to understand human emotions on a deeper level—what motivates people, what holds them back, and how their experiences shape them. Acting also forces you to step out of your comfort zone, which is essential for personal and professional growth.

With such a diverse and prolific career, how do you stay grounded and maintain a balance between your professional and personal life?

Family has always been my top priority and greatest blessing. The values I was raised with keep me grounded, reminding me of what truly matters and providing a constant source of support. Staying connected with my family and choosing to live outside the heart of Hollywood has helped me maintain balance, allowing me to navigate the highs and lows of a freelance, creative, and entertainment-driven career.
